Aff534 Pattern

This is a bold and very extrovert pattern that is intended to look a little more random when seen close to but, from far away, the pattern seems to become much more regular. It was designed specifically to be seen from a distance which the swatch will not easily do but you will have the chance, I hope, to see this pattern as wallpaper.

The motif is obviously a simple one which has been used throughout the generations and was, of course, used extensively mid-century. The colours, perhaps surprisingly, are mid-century colours and are taken from my extended mid-century colour palette that would have been used at the time.

I have done some initial experimentation to look at the pattern from a distance and I am looking forward to creating this design as a wallpaper to see if I can produce the same effect which I can then bring to you.

This design also fits my criteria for Belle Epoque 2 with the simple, closely spaced motifs and the fast repeat. It is, as patterns go, a little simple but I think that my guidelines could be stretched enough to include it.

If you wish, you can also see larger versions of this and, of course, my other designs and patterns for interiors on my Flickr page, a link to which is here.
