Aff533 Pattern

This design is intended as a pattern to be used on soft furnishings, and I had in mind curtains and cushions and it was intended, as is much of my work, for a living room or dining area.

The design follows my ideas for Belle Epoque 2 and takes for its inspiration the designs made in the 1950s in the United Kingdom. It is not, however, a proper mid-century design since the fast repeat and the colouring creates the Belle Epoque 2 ‘turn-of-the-century’ look. The design was intended to be used at the scale shown although there will need to be some experimentation, particularly if I intend to use the design as a material that could be used for cushions.

The colours, however, are mid-century and are from my extended British Standard palette that I frequently use.

If you wish, you can also see larger versions of this and, of course, my other designs and patterns for interiors on my Flickr page, a link to which is here.
