Aff526 As A Pattern
July 2, 2019 Leave a comment

This is a simple, decorative pattern intended as a design for wallpaper and created using the ideas of Belle Epoque 2 to produce a design suitable for all the walls of a house rather than simply being a design for a feature wall.
The motif is the sort of motif that would have been found mid-century while the colouring is taken from my extended palette of colours that would have been in use at the time.
The design uses rotation for effect and successive lines move the rotation laterally in order, hopefully, to create interest and to make the design look decorative without being too forceful or too noticeable to a visitor to the room. Designs such as this prevent walls from looking too plain or from being just one area of colour and so provide a little decorative relief and interest to what would otherwise be an unadorned, austere room.
If you wish, you can also see larger versions of this and, of course, my other designs and patterns for interiors on my Flickr page, a link to which is here.
