Aff501 Pattern

This design was created to be used for wrapping paper, and in particular I saw it as producing gift bags but, when I reviewed the pattern as a finished swatch, I began to have other ideas.

It is a Belle Epoque 2 design with a fast repeat and a small-scale but, like the design that I have just featured, it also looks good at a slightly larger scale. Therefore I naturally began to think that it might have a use as a design for soft furnishing.

I have some experimentation to do and we will have to see which use I think turns out to be the best. The motifs used in the design are simple ones and the colouring is taken from the extended palette that I use and which was obtained from colours created for the British Standard in the mid-century decades.

If you wish, you can also see larger versions of this and, of course, my other designs and patterns for interiors on my Flickr page, a link to which is here.
