Aff487 As Wallpaper

Wallpaper serves, and has served for a good number of years, the very important task of providing decoration to the walls of the room. Without wallpaper, the walls look uninteresting and the room becomes dull and boring.

This design is mid-century based, in fact it would not look out of place in a room in the 1970s in the United Kingdom. The colours, as well, are taken from the mid-century palette and, again, would not look out of place during that decade. However, this was not intended as a period wallpaper but designed to be used in a modern setting.

The set that I have used is a mid-century designed modern room and I envisaged the wallpaper as covering just one wall. I have tried to make the design such that the wallpaper shows up the dimensions of the wall and also its length since this is quite a big room.

I have included a swatch of the pattern in a slightly different colour which was the way that I saw this design originally. Unfortunately, this was a way which did not seem to work once it is used in a room. As have said before, this is one of the big advantages of being able to use 3D sets to test the designs.

If you wish, you can also see larger versions of this and, of course, my other designs and patterns for interiors on my Flickr page, a link to which is here.
