Aff483 Pattern

This is an odd pattern that looks, I think, quite nice when seen from a distance but odd when looked at close to. Unlike, I suspect, other makers of surface patterns, I work in a small area to produce the design but at the same time looking at how the pattern will look at various scales including quite small.

It is therefore possible for me to see how, for example, a wallpaper pattern will look from a distance or to the visitor to a room.

Although this wallpaper looks odd close to, from a distance it has a very simple up and down movement which enables it to add dimension to the wall. It also has a 3D look where the white areas recede. Once again, the motivation for this is mid-century and the colouring is also from the same decade.

If you wish, you can also see larger versions of this and, of course, my other designs and patterns for interiors on my Flickr page, a link to which is here.
