Brown Pattern

Brown surface patternThis is an unusual pattern, at least for me, because the background and also some of the colours are brown based and this is a colour that I rarely use. However, it is always good to move out of the normal comfort zone and see what can be accomplished.

This particular design owes much to mid-century motifs and to a certain extent to the colouring used at that time. Like most of my designs, I had in mind the idea of wallpaper or possibly fabric for curtains because this is the way that I work. Having looked at the design, however, I feel that it may well, with perhaps some small modifications, be an acceptable design as a furnishing fabric.

I am experimenting with different versions of the design and different 3D models and hope to be able to bring you the results of this within the next few days.

If you wish, you can also see larger versions of this and, of course, my other designs and patterns for interiors on my Flickr page, a link to which is here.
