Fabric Becomes Paper

Wallpaperaff310 swatch.jpgYes, you are right, you have seen this design before but on that occasion it had been optimised and altered slightly in order to produce a pattern that was suitable for fabric and I showed it as a swatch. This is the same design only this time it is optimised for wallpaper.

On this occasion I have papered a wall in a very modern luxury apartment overlooking the sea. You can only see part of the room, but you can imagine its dimensions from the image. The remaining walls are painted in a light colour and this wall was painted the same colour.

However, the wallpaper covers just this one wall and, since this is not interior design, I have chosen an image which shows the extent of the wallpaper and the join between the papered wall and the adjoining wall which contains the window. The lighting in the room is modelled to be natural and to be just daylight and a muted sun.

With a painted wall the room looks smaller and quite boring resembling perhaps the interior of the garage. Add the paper and suddenly the room becomes alive and looks the way that you see it now.

If you wish, you can also see larger versions of this and, of course, my other designs and patterns for interiors and my interior 3D work on my Flickr page, a link to which is here.
