Decoration On The Walls

aff172_1000Mid-century Inspired PatternThis set is intended to be an upmarket living room in a penthouse style apartment situated somewhere forever permanently sunny and warm and by the sea.

As I created it, the walls and the curtaining were both very nice but very solid colours and the whole looked good, very modern, but perhaps a little boring and lacking in interest. So, with that in mind, this design is intended to lighten the mood and to create enduring interest. But, and this is important, it is not intended to take over the look of the room or to dominate it. My intention is to merely augment and decorate an otherwise large expanse of colour and make the room attractive to both visitors and the homeowner alike.

The design, as all my designs, is mid-century in both style and colouring but that only serves to make it more interesting and out-of-the-ordinary for today. I also think this design gives the room a very stylish and something look in keeping with its status.

The colours are simple and my notes, made at the time, say they are just chocolate, magnolia and montella.

If you wish then you can also see larger versions of this and, of course, my other designs and patterns for interiors on my Flickr page, a link to which is here.
