Red And More Red

aff168_1000Mid-century Inspired PatternSuppose you have a room that is rather on the dull side, you know, neutral walls and curtains that feature plain colours and a non-descript floor, yet you want to add some colour and really bring the room alive.

Well, it has to be said, this wall covering really does bring any room alive and ensures that everyone in the room is functional and fully awake! The zig-zag pattern design owes something to mid-century papers and also uses mid-century based colours but the whole was intended as completely modern in both usage, interpretation and intention.

Of course, it goes without saying that the supporting wall needs a strong colour to offer support and you perhaps would not want to use this wall design in a room intended just for quiet relaxation but as an energizer or attention grabber I think it is hard to beat. The colours used are from a palette in use mid-century but the effect is such that the overall look seems much more modern.

If you would like to see larger versions of these designs and my other work then you can do so on my Flickr page, a link to which is here.
