Round And Square Wallpaper

aff163_sqaff163_01_mosaicThis room was designed to show how patterned (and sometimes even quite striking) wall covering change and enhance the look of a modern room. This 3D set represents the end section of a living room in a contemporary English house.

With plain walls, the effect in the room is new-fashioned but using a motif paper the walls suddenly begin to take on a life of their own and create not just an atmosphere but affect all the other elements inside the space.

Here the wallpaper design is mid-century influenced even down to the choice of the colours that are used but a careful selection of motif ensures that the effect is both twenty-first century yet also cosy and familiar. The colours used are, according to my notes, buttermilk for the background with chocolate, mustard, golden brown and finally reef red – all colours chosen from the British Standard palette.

If you would like to see larger versions of these designs and my other work then you can do so on my Flickr page, a link to which is here.
