Mid-century Inspired Pattern

Green Bedroom Walls Swatch

I like green as a colour and so did those in the mid-century years in the United Kingdom because it found its way into many pattern for wall coverings, for fabric and also for paint.

This pattern is a double repeat using chocolate for one motif and magnolia for the second one. I wanted to try to create both a faithful mid-century pattern and also one that would appeal to modern tastes and so, after some experimentation, I chose eau de nil as the background colour.

Seeing it used on the bedroom wall of my mid-century set, I have to admit to being pleased since it looks every bit midcentury as much as it does modern.

If you would like to see larger versions of these designs and my other work then you can do so on my Flickr page, a link to which is here.
