Low-Key Transport Seating Pattern

Low-Key Transport Seating Pattern

I enjoy creating seating patterns for transportation, that is for buses, coaches and train seats, both because of the challenges and also because of the limitations.

This design is intended for low-key seats, such as you might find on transport intended for longer journey times where people are exposed to the pattern for an extended period. This design, with its mid-century roots and colours is, I think, restful and yet interesting enough to be attractive to the passenger.

The colours used are from the mid-century palette and are blue-grey for the background and then Post-Office red, marine blue, tawny red and finally Pacific blue.

If you would like to see larger versions of these designs and my other work then you can do so on my Flickr page, a link to which is here.
