Tight Small Repeat Blue

Mid-century Inspired Pattern

Tight Small Repeat Blue

This mid-century inspired design was intended for a fashion pattern although, having finished it, it seems that it might have more general fabric possibilities.

In essence, it is a simple design that uses a more complex motif but a simple repeating pattern that is low key on one row and punchy on the next to give the final look an interesting and varied overall structure.

I chose mid-century type motifs and used midnight blue as the background with poppy red, magnolia, brass (lovely colour) and finally clover leaf as the colours for the motif.  The final look of the design is definitely the look that I was after when I began so I am pleased with the result.

If you would like to see larger versions of these designs and my other work then you can do so on my Flickr page, a link to which is here.
