Sophisticated Grey Wallpaper Swatch

I have to admit that I do like dark colours and plenty of contrast although that was not, perhaps, one of the main traits that you would expect to find in mid-century wall coverings.

This pattern was intended as a mid-century inspired fabric for furnishing (and you will see an example of that shortly) rather than as wallpaper. However, I began to realise that if I changed the colour scheme to something a little less saturated and monotoned then I might have the making of a sophisticated modern design.

The colours used are buttermilk and montella for the motif, shire grey for the background (Shire Greys are horses and the colour is very nearly a match!). The stroke also is buttermilk. On the Flickr page (link below) you can see a nice colour variation using orange as the background).

If you would like to see larger versions of these designs and my other work then you can do so on my Flickr page, a link to which is here
