Swirly Lampshade Pattern Swatch

Mid-century patterns, for some reason, seem to lend themselves easily to all sorts of domestic design possibilities and, in this case, I have chosen a modern lampshade.

It seems an odd choice but lampshades do benefit from having a pattern on them and this mid-century inspired design I thought went well with the shape of the shade.

The pattern is a sort of camouflage design as we might call it now but on a smaller scale in the case of the swatch and, in the case of the lamp, on a very large scale to give it perhaps a more sophisticated aspect. The background is cocoa while the colours used are noted by me as chocolate, magnolia (I always seem to use magnolia somewhere), blue-grey and the sailors colour, marine blue.

Again, if you are interested in how these designs and models are made, the software used is Maxon’s Cinema 4D and Affinity Designer to produce the pattern.

If you would like to see larger versions of these designs and my other work then you can do so on my Flickr page, a link to which is here
