This particular pattern was inspired by wall covering designs from the 1960s and 70s, a period when circular motifs were very much in the ascendancy.

Rather than create a formal, regular pattern, I have chosen to create something that is a little subtler and plays more with the colours. And according to my notes of the design the colours that I used were chocolate, mustard, poppy red, orange, pacific blue and, as you can see, canary yellow.

As a matter of interest, I did try the pattern as wallpaper and it looked very 1970s and quite good but I did prefer it as a fashion fabric design.

Several people have asked me and the model was exported from Daz 3D (I think it was Genesis 2). The set was built in Cinema 4D, which program was used for the render, and the pattern was created in Affinity Designer.

If you would like to see larger versions of these designs and my other work then you can do so on my Flickr page, a link to which is here
