Spruced Up Kitchen Diner Swatch

This is a new set that I have constructed and this may well be the first time that I have used it in order to show off some of the designs that I create.

It represents, as you can see, a modern kitchen/diner, the kind of room you would find as a living area in a modern apartment. The whole purpose of the set is to show off the walls and in this case I have used my latest design wallpaper.

This is a bright and eye-catching design based loosely on mid-century patterns and using, in fact, mid-century colours. It is intended to be used on one wall only as a feature paper and to make a bold statement in a room. As is often the case, the kitchen is full of contrast with black (or dark coloured) units contrasting with lighter units for the worktop. In a room such as this with so many contrasts the bold, red walls add to the sense of drama and provide a nice backdrop to the simple dining chairs and table.

The look of the room is young and vibrant and this is intended to be used both during the day when the room is lit by light from outside, including sunlight, or at night when the lighting is perhaps more subdued for a slightly more formal dinner at the table.

As ever, you can also see larger versions of this and, of course, my other work on my Flickr page which is here.
