Gold Mid-century Fabric

Sometimes one of the main uses of a fabric is to lift the atmosphere or ambiance of a room and create a different feeling in the visitor.

This room is, well, a little dark and uninspiring but the addition of gold colored mid-century inspired curtains and cushions changes the outlook of the space entirely. Now the room is bright and cheerful and, above all, inviting.

This fabric design owes something, as do all my designs, to mid-century ideas including the contemporary colours – the background is lovely jasmine yellow. The design is deliberately simple to create a cleanness, so as not to take or distract the eye. It also means that this pattern will work with almost anything.

As ever, you can also see larger versions of this and my other work on my Flickr page which is here.
