Very Modern Curtain Fabric Design

This is a bit cheeky really considering that I do mid-century style designs and this website is even called 20th Century 3D.

This was inspired by a free Japanese brochure that showcased some beautiful gardens in Tokyo city. Sitting, looking at the pages, I suddenly had a thought to create a pattern using the rather stylised but very elegant plan inside. The result is a design for the curtain fabric which you see above. The design was created using Xara Designer while the room is my 1970s room made with Cinema 4D.

The carpet texture, by the way, is a new one created with Filter Forge and the Sci-Fi Stone Walls filter by DreamWarrior. Yes, I know that’s not what the filter is supposed to be used for but – to paraphrase Bert Monroy – it’s not what something is called that’s important: it’s what it does!

As ever, you can also see larger versions of this and our other work on our Flickr page which is here.
