A Nice Upholstery Pattern

I wanted to create a pattern that has its roots in the mid-century but which could be used today as a furnishings fabric.

Mid-century furnishing patterns were, for the most part, slightly drab looking and I wanted to keep this look but make it a little more exciting. The design was created in Xara Designer after several attempts but I had difficulty in applying this as a texture to my usual soft furnishings set. In the event I decided to use the swatch just as a piece of fabric which I think looks just as good (and was a lot easier to produce).

You can also see larger versions of this and our other work on our Flickr page which is here.
