1950s Inspired Wallpaper

The 50s in the UK, and elsewhere, was a great time of inspiration and innovation particularly in the production of patterns and wall coverings.

This particular mid-century pattern, which I have used as a wall covering, takes its inspiration from many of the designs that were produced during the 1950s. These are, I believe, some of the best patterns that have been made and represent some of the nicest small repeats. Sadly, patterns of this nature seem to have fallen into decline and are now, I think, desperately in need of renewal.

This design was created in Xara Designer while the image was produced using Cinema 4D and my mid-century bedroom set. The colours used are all from the British Standard range of colours which would have been used at the time.

You can also see larger versions of this and our other work on our Flickr page which is here.
