It’s The 1970s Again

I’ve been looking at pictures of mid-century rooms taken in the 1970s and realising just how bright, colourful and chaotic they were.

This is a curtain pattern which originated during the late 1950s and 60s but which must have been available during the following decade. The room is the 1966 West Avenue room which would have looked substantially the same in the 1970s. The only change is to use a pattern I have used before which was made with Processing for the wallpaper and suddenly the room is a 1970s room. In truth the colours may have looked a little brighter but mixing patterns like this was a common feature mid-century.

Again the pattern was created with Xara Designer while the room was made a long time ago in Cinema 4D and the render was made with that program.

You can also see larger versions of this and our other work on our Flickr page which is here.
