A Vase Texture

I like doing 3D textures for interiors, particularly mid-century interiors, but aside from wallpaper and fabric there are also other items that need a texture.

I am in the process of creating a new mid-century room in order to give some variety to the images that I produce. One thing that I was conscious of is that a lot of the vases and bric-a-brac that I use were made some time back and I really need to create some new models. I therefore made a start on a mid-century vase and, having created the model, I then made a suitable looking texture. This texture is based on the look of various vases made in the 1950s and 1960s and I then applied the texture to the vase.

In order to do it properly I used my old mid-century living room which I’m hoping to replace. The image that you see above is a detail of the sideboard in that room containing the new vase.

You can also see larger versions of this and our other work on our Flickr page which is here.
