Useful Material

Sometimes you create a design for a pattern and find that it has uses far more wide ranging than you had originally intended.

This pattern was designed as fashion material although, when I had the chance to look at the renders, I was certain that the material would look just as nice as curtaining or even as upholstery. For that reason I decided to resurrect my old material 3D set, make some slight alterations to bring it into the present day, and produce the image that you see above.

I tried various colour variations, most of which were successful, but decided that this was probably the best version to show you. The pattern was created in Xara Designer and the scene rendered in Cinema 4D using my new Material set. You can also see larger versions of this, along with a swatch in a different colour, and our other work on our Flickr page which is here.
