At 20th Century 3D we do rather specialise in making perhaps the less glamorous but essential fabric patterns in use over the last hundred years.

Mid-century fabric designs tended to be quite conservative, at least in the 1950s and early 1960s, and to follow the patterns that were created pre-war. This pattern is designed to be unobtrusive and yet to create a pleasant room environment that could be used in most mid-century style houses.

This design was created as a one-off pattern and so no colour variations exist although it would be possible to create different colours if that were desired. The pattern was made in Adobe Illustrator and the image was produced in Cinema 4D using my old furnishing testing set.

Try as I might I was unable to remove the artefacts that appeared on the chairs in the render process although they do have the effect of making the furniture look a little aged and so I thought I would leave them in.

You can see larger versions of this and our other work on our Flickr page which is here.
