1950s inspired furnishing fabric design

1950s inspired furnishing fabric design

Once again this design is based on various patterns and designs for furnishing fabrics that were created in the early 1950s.

The colours used in the design are authentic colours from the palette endorsed by the British Standards Institute but the way that they are used and the designs themselves have the effect of bringing this pattern more up-to-date than I had intended. However I applied it to the sofa and, using a different background, to the armchair that I have in my Furniture Testing area and I was so pleased with the result that I decided to keep the design the way it was. The swatch shows the original pattern as I created it.

Adobe Illustrator was used to create the design and Cinema 4D was used to produce the final render which was then tidied up in Photoshop.
