Back to more conventional times today with two really stunning mid-century inspired wall coverings.

These designs are based on mid 1950s motifs and ideas and represent a style that never really reappeared again and so must be due now for a comeback. I hope so because I love these patterns!

True to the time, the backgrounds are created using mid-century colours Orchis and Zephyr, and the motifs use hues of a similar time to give an authentic look. The scale is quite big and so these would probably have been used as a feature wall – think chimney – with a contrasting ‘quieter’ paper on the adjoining walls.

The patterns were made with Xara Designer 9 and the render was done in the fabulous Shade program which I am currently learning to use.
