Xar018, a very 1900s fabric pattern

Xar018, a very 1900s fabric pattern

As you know I am particularly interested in the 1950s and 1960s because I was born at the end of the war and this was the period in which I grew up.

However, I am also interested in the development of fabric pattern design from the end of the 19th century through into the 20th century. In homage to this, the design today is inspired by those designs that appeared in the early years of the 20th century.

A lot was happening at that time, particularly in science, and a lot of the designs reflected both the scientific discoveries that were taking place and also the desire of artists to free themselves from the floral and fussy designs that have gone before.

This is not a free design, I am afraid, but three backgrounds for you to see in different colours have been uploaded to Flickr and the links are below.
